Having had Gordon working on my business’s accounts over the last few years has proved to be a real asset to Simply Fine Foods. After moving from a side street accountant to someone with the wealth of experience in his field we now realise how important good accounting is.
Gordon has saved us both time and money in giving us sound accounting advice and very in-depth monthly management accounts that truly reflect the financial shape of the business, enabling us to see on a month on month basis how we are doing against the previous year and our budget, which Gordon also helped us develop.
In addition to giving us the accounts we need on time every month, Gordon has also sourced for us a very good bookkeeping company with whom he liaises and where we are still very much in control of our own accounts, from our invoicing to payroll and payments of suppliers. We have been using an online version of Sage, so not only do we have access, but so do both Gordon and the bookkeeping company.
With Gordon, year-end has now become just another normal month as all our accounts are fully completed at the end of each month and the year-end just goes without a hitch and the stress we previously endured. Being a Limited company, it can be quite complicated, but this poses no problem as all of the work is done by the bookkeepers, Gordon and our Chartered Accountant, who incidentally Gordon also sourced for us and who, as you would expect from Welsby Associates, is of the highest standard.
All in all I have never had to look back or double-check my accounts. All that is left for me to do is to concentrate on running and developing my business and doing what we do best rather than being bogged down with the day-to-day data entry.
